About

Lewis is a University of Edinburgh Graduate currently working for World Sailing as Digital Communications Lead building on his marketing communications career.

He holds national titles and medals and is a former member of the British Youth Sailing Team.

He has his Grandad to thank for his sailing passion. He was a proud member of the local sailing club, Royal Forth Yacht Club. Lewis was enrolled as a member of the club at just two months old where he started to learn the ropes in a topper at age 12.

Lewis climbed up the Scottish junior and youth pathway before reaching the British Youth Sailing Team in 2014.

He raced the ILCA 6 competitively in the UK and internationally before transitioning to the single-handed male Olympic class, ILCA 7, in autumn 2016.

Lewis raced in the U21 discipline until 2018 when he finished 24th at the European Championships in Sweden. Lewis then transitioned into the senior fleet for the remainder of his Olympic endeavours before the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic acted as a natural pivot point to re-focus on a career in marketing communications.

Lewis still sails competitively in a range of boats. He has his ILCA dinghy and sails as part of Team CRHU in the 707 sports boat class in Scotland at home.

Lewis loves to travel, cook, and keep fit. He takes great interest in graphic design, technology and all things sport - especially Formula 1.
